[Listening to |International Superheroes of Hardcore - Fashion Show]

I don't care what anyone says but New Found Glory's as International Superheroes of Hardcore has to be the most inspired idea ever.  I already love the double disc more than is sensible.  I do believe the only thing to better this would be Brand New covering 99 Problems by Jay-Z.

...why won't ticketmaster let me buy the damn half price Matchbox 20 tickets.  You Bastards!  It won't take either of my cards and I cannot work out why.

My computer is in a zombified state.  That is to say for something that wouldn't work for 2 days it has risen from the ashes and works.  I have moved a whole pile of stuff onto the external hard-drive I bought (they've actually charged me now) and so all should be well.

More pretty words, this time from John Mayer...

Stop acting careless. In fact, care more. Be vulnerable but stay away from where it hurts. Read. See more shows. Of any kind. Rock shows, art shows, boat shows. Create more art. Wear hoodies to dinner. Carry a notebook and hand it to people when they passionately recommend something and ask them to write it down for me.

Root for others.

Give more and expect the same in return, but over time.

I thought they were pretty, and fairly apt.  And I'm excited as I have tickets to go see him at the Birmingham Academy in June with Sian.  Yay!

I am being mocked by a fortune cookie;

You are one of the people who "go place in life" :)

I presume it means I'm one of those people that are going somewhere...problem is WHERE?!  Seriously fortune cookie, where am I going?  The saying implies going somewhere good, doing something with ones life.  But what?  Really a hint would be nice.  There's another one in the kitchen I'm tempted to crack open and see if it holds anymore wisdom or if it will mock me further.  An idea of what I should be doing to "go place in life" would be nice.  Or even an idea of the "place" so I can attempt to figure out how to get there.  Because at the moment I have no earthly idea.

Bloody fortune cookies, I should have just cooked!

Jimmy Eat World
Birmingham Academy - 19th February
Manchester Academy - 20th Febraury

~ * ~
I thought about reviewing them separately, but ultimately the experience of seeing two shows by the same band two nights running gave it more continuity and understanding than would be fair to ignore.

Did I mention in any previous posts about being given a Shakin Steven's vinyl by the guy at the vinyl exchange in Manc?  It was ace, as we were having a look round pre-JEW and the guy told us they were closing in 10 minutes, so we figured we better leave and go get some food.  As we were getting to the stairs he called out "Ladies, don't leave empty handed" and thrust a Shakin Steven's single at me.  I had to carry it round the gig, but I maintain it was the best birthday present ever (that and JEW playing 23 the night before I turned 23)!

New Found Glory
Leeds Cockpit
7th February 2008

~ * ~
NFG hung round the cockpit afterwards and chatted to fans, which was ace to get to say hi to one of my favourite bands.  Also the music at the cockpit was awesome and there was just good song after good song, which is why we ended up leaving so late.  Hey, they played Brand New twice, how could it not be good?
